Local Policing Priorities for Nailsea:

Consultation with the community has identified the following priorities in this neighbourhood.

1. Reducing theft from Cars & Vans

Police are receiving above average reports of theft from motor vehicles in the area of Nailsea, Portishead & Clevedon. Increasing high visibility patrols to combat, deter and reassure.

2. Anti Social Behaviour

Targeted patrols where required in Nailsea including Millennium Park and Crown Glass shopping centre

Trageted patrols have occurred throughut the summer months and police have held Community Engagement events involving the youths and local families. This in turn reduced emand and incidents of ASB within the Nailsea area. Targeted patrol will continue to build on the work already completed

3. Criminal damage

Reducing the amount of criminal damage that has taken place within Millennium Park.

As with the ASB, targeted patrol and community enagement have had a marked effect on the level of Criminal Damage ebing committed/reported over the Summer period. Such patrols will continue now that the nights are drawing in with the lead up to Christmas

4. Rose Gardens, Nailsea

Along with the council the police are working on new ideas to make the Rose Gardens a more enjoyable place to visit and reduce the ASB within the area.

Message from PC Rooke:

I am PC 3494 Peter Rooke and with my colleagues, PCSO 7948 Kate Turner and PCSO 9779 Julie Berchall we police the town of Nailsea.

We work within a team of 1 Sergeant, 4 Constables and 7 police community support officers from Nailsea fire station. Between us all we cover a large geographical area, including villages as far apart as Long Ashton to Blagdon.

We actively patrol our area working to reduce any crime, anti-social behaviour and promoting crime reduction to make our neighbourhood a safer environment.
